The Autism Foundation of the Carolinas is dedicated to making a difference in our local community for children and families affected by autism. One way we plan to do so is by collaboratively developing programs with organizations in our community that fill a gap in service as identified by our Parent Advisory Committee, community support groups and area providers. It is not our intention to duplicate services nor is it our intention to create programs without the input and participation of those who are knowledgeable in developing programs for children with the autism and their families. Below is a summary of our projects:
Professional Awareness Campaign
A collaborative effort of Autism Foundation of the Carolinas, Autism Society of North Carolina, and Autism Speaks to educate providers who diagnoses and treat children with autism spectrum disorder regarding early intervention tools, resources and programs provided/sponsored by these three organizations.

University Autism Outreach Program
Davidson College, Queens University, and University of North Carolina at Charlotte have joined with Autism Foundation of the Carolinas (AFC) to build a new generation of leaders who understand existing and often overlooked segments of our community. The goal is to integrate undergraduate and graduate students into the autism community by organizing a network/database for students seeking internships/clinical hours to find families dealing with autism looking for students to help with life skills, academics, ABA therapy, and other specific needs.
